Pharmacists / Support Staff seeking employment
Does it cost anything to register?
No. We charge our clients a placement fee for using our service. It is therefore free of charge to all applicants.
How often do you update the positions advertised on your website?
We update our positions on a daily basis ensuring we only advertise vacant positions.
I usually find my own work, why should I use you?
We have an excellent relationship with our clients and as such, often find out about positions before they are advertised. Raven’s assists with the negotiating of terms for you to ensure you are getting the best package available for the position. We will keep you informed as new vacancies come in. If you decide you would like to work your way around Australia we can help you line up work in every state and territory of Australia. We also have positions in New Zealand, UK and Ireland.
What kind of positions do you have?
We specialise in permanent full and part time positions as well as locum and emergency placements for Pharmacists and support staff.
My current employer is not aware I am looking for alternative work, is that a problem?
No, as long as you inform Raven’s that all contact should be confidential.
What should I do if I am not happy in the position?
Contact your Raven’s consultant immediately.
What do I need to do to register with Raven’s?
This can be done on the internet (takes around 2 minutes). You will also need to provide us with an up to date resume and referee contact details.
Why do I need to supply Raven’s with a resume and referee details?
We use your resume as a selling tool to clients. Once you have given your permission for us to forward your details to the client, we forward your resume along with a short profile on you to the client so they can get an idea of your experience and area of expertise. We need to take references on everyone to ensure that we are placing the right type of person into the position.
What happens once I register with Raven’s?
Raven’s will send you a list of available positions that suit your work preferences. Should we not have any suitable positions, we will contact our clients on your behalf in the areas where you are looking for work. Once you are interested in a position, with your permission, we will forward the client your details. The client will then contact you directly to discuss the position in greater detail.
Can I register with more that one Recruitment Agency?
Yes. In the majority of cases you should not need to as we usually have in excess of 150 positions available in Australia alone. However, should you wish to keep your options open, you are more than welcome to register with another agency. Please be sure to inform Raven’s if we are discussing a position with you that has already been discussed by another Agent. In addition, if your other agency is discussing a position with you that Raven’s have already spoken to you about, please be sure to inform them. This may happen quite often, as some clients will list their position with several agencies. We try to work on a first come first served basis, but can only do this effectively with your assistance.
Is it difficult to organise registration in other States?
No, the process is very simple. You can register in the other states and territories under Mutual Recognition. In the majority of cases your registration can be organised in a matter of days. You cannot under any circumstances commence employment in a different state/territory without the relevant registration. For further information on contact details and fees for the various pharmacy boards please contact Raven's.
If I want to work overseas, can you assist me?
Yes, Raven’s currently operate an overseas transfer scheme to New Zealand, the UK and Ireland. For further information please contact us on 1800429 829. In addition, we often recruit for the Pacific Islands.

Why should I use Raven’s?
Raven’s Recruitment has been in operation for 20 years and we have placed hundreds of pharmacists into positions during this period. We have built an enviable reputation in the industry by offering an excellent level of customer service combined with thorough procedures to ensure we get the right person for your position. Pharmacists often contact a specialised recruitment company for employment rather than scan the newspapers etc for new positions.
Can Raven’s assist with recruiting an overseas pharmacist?
Ravens work in partnership with PPLS in the UK, A-Team in Ireland and NZPE in New Zealand. We have been working with these agencies for several years to ensure the transition of staff to Australia is smooth and all pre-employment checks are carried out prior to relocation.
Do Raven’s only recruit pharmacists?
Raven’s work on behalf of the pharmacy industry. We specialise in Pharmacists, Dispensary Technicians and Pharmacy staff on a locum, part time and permanent basis.
What do I need to do next?
The first step is to contact Raven’s for our “Employers kit.” This kit contains our Terms of Business, full fee structure and position available form. Prior to us assisting you with your recruitment needs we would need you to sign and return the terms of business and complete basic information on your pharmacy and the type of person you require. Once we have this information we will start to look for a staff member for you. Depending on your location this could be a lengthy process, however our team of skilled, professional consultants will keep you informed every step of the way.
Will my position be advertised?
Yes, if necessary. In the first instance we will list the vacancy on our website. We have a database of over 3,000 Pharmacist/support staff that check our website on a regular basis for new positions. In the meantime we will conduct a search of our database for suitable candidates. Our next step would be to advertise your position externally either in a pharmacy journal or on the Internet. Should you be interested in employing an overseas candidate we would also request that our partner agencies in UK, Ireland and New Zealand assist us in the search for your new staff member.
